A Saturday like any other… (Natalie Abel)

The day was going well... the Springboks won and the sun was shining! I was heading to a social tennis game, but never got there, as I landed up testing the safety features of a 2005 1,4 two-door Ford Fiesta instead.

Save the Hummer? (Gareth Dean)

I spend much of my day basking in the sickly glow of my computer monitor imbibing motoring news from around the world. From this position, I’ve seen a number of trends waxing and waning throughout the automotive sphere…

Of fast cars and early mornings (Sudhir Matai)

I’m not a morning person (that’s why I hate early photo shoots), but the chance to drive an Audi S5, Seat Leon Cupra and BMW 135i in succession is too good to miss…

The best job in the world? (Sudhir Matai)

Universal beauty (Sudhir Matai)

His eye for beautiful things has, thankfully, never got him into trouble, or so Sudhir thinks.

Sweaty palms and PlayStation pitlane frustration (Kyle Kock)

The figures say it all - 300 km/h, 30 laps per hour and 3 drivers … plus 400 kW Le Mans Prototypes and 24 hours of intense racing equals plenty of backache, sore ankles and … television eyes. Welcome to my preparation for the CAR Virtual Le Mans Challenge, set to commence at Canal Walk shopping centre in Cape Town on June 14-15.

Lotus to the rescue! (Hannes Oosthuizen)

For the past few months I’ve been an extremely worried man… worried that the type of cars I so adore - fast and fun exotica - was on the brink of extinction. But I feel better now, and the tonic came in the shape of an extremely light, blisteringly fast and fantastically fun little sports car.

The Car’s the Star (Ian McLaren)

They upstage the leading lady, are often driven at breakneck speeds with villains in pursuit and then blown up for good measure. Movie cars are something of a phenomenon…but why are so many of them Audis?

Do you have the...??? (Sudhir Matai)

Sudhir Matai takes his family jewels in his hand and keeps the throttle planted in the Opel Corsa OPC around East London's historic Grand Prix circuit.

In Tiida's case, handsome is... (Mike Fourie)

The Tiida's major drawback is that Nissan stripped its sub-compact of emotional appeal at conception and in doing so, made it incredibly difficult for the plucky econobox to win over the hearts of the public. And it's a pity, because after almost a year in the company of a 1,8 Acenta, I've been won over.
