LOWE NEW RS&P MD

Ramsay, Son & Parker recently announced that Stuart Lowe would succeed Harold Eedes as the company's managing director. As a result of Lowe's appointment, the Cape Town-based publishing house is seeking a new Publisher for RS&P's Automotive division.

Lowe takes over as managing director from July and Eedes, who has been MD for the last nine years, will continue as a non-executive member of RS&P's board.

"It is a real privilege to head up this 75-year-old media company, which has an impressive history in specialist media and exciting prospects for extending that content into multiple platforms," said Lowe. "The strong brands and great people at RS&P will ensure our growth and future success."

Lowe joined Ramsay Son & Parker 10 years ago as circulation and marketing executive and was appointed Publisher of the company's flagship magazine title CAR and to its board of directors in 2005. Wiel and Leisure Wheels were added to his portfolio when those titles joined the stable under the RS&P Automotive banner in 2006.

"Stuart will bring substantial energy, enthusiasm, experience and innovation to the position," said the company's chairman Alan Ramsay.

The process to find a suitable replacement for Stuart in his previous portfolio is underway. The new Publisher of RS&P's Automotive will assume overall responsibility for the flagship brand CAR, WIEL the country's only Afrikaans medium motoring magazine, Leisure Wheels the leading adventure marketing magazine - as well as a range of exciting digital brands including CARtoday.com. The successful incumbent will have full responsibility for setting the strategy, guiding operations and delivering against the growth plans for the automotive division, whilst constantly exploring opportunities for strategic partnerships within the wider ambit of media communications. The management and growth of shared resource functions, including advertising sales and marketing teams, as well as the ability to develop high-performing teams will be critical to the success of the role.

Suitably qualified applicants are requested to apply via applications@rsp.co.za. Applications must be supported by a full letter of motivation. The closing date for applications is June 6.
